God gives freely, so freely receive (biblical quote in there somewhere). I was healed of a back problem, which I had suffered with for 15 years, while watching God TV - so no need for you to move far to receive healing if God so chooses.Carolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02242784060626812887noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2439212863213673377.post-4333321086214656412009-01-29T03:47:00.000-08:002009-01-29T03:47:00.000-08:00ah .. so you do remember :)ah .. so you do remember :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2439212863213673377.post-68316390613525509962009-01-28T06:53:00.000-08:002009-01-28T06:53:00.000-08:00This is a fascinating discussion.I was at Revival...This is a fascinating discussion.
I was at Revival Fires in Dudley a week or so back, and while I was there, my three kids were healed of ADHD and Autism. They were 150 miles away, and no one "announced" this healing.(Except God, to me, obviously). I was never called to the front of the meeting or asked to give anything. (other than the usual offering, taken at all meetings in churches up and down the country).
Two of my kids were on a controlled drug - they have now been off that drug for 10 days, and are symptom free. There will always be preachers who fall, and those who are out and out fraudsters. And then there are those who are entirely genuine.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2439212863213673377.post-31509006527192980692009-01-28T05:28:00.000-08:002009-01-28T05:28:00.000-08:00Interesting take on the whole business, Stephen.Interesting take on the whole business, Stephen. One Sick Motherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06744571221745247997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2439212863213673377.post-87612614519689655202009-01-28T05:09:00.000-08:002009-01-28T05:09:00.000-08:00He wasn't wearing a white suit was he?I think the ...He wasn't wearing a white suit was he?

I think the film that Brian may be referring to is "Leap of Faith", with Steve Martin....where a fraud showman accidentally DOES heal somebody for real.

In these modern meetings you can give your credit card details now....you can find yourself royally in debt for the Kingdom.

It’s strange that so many of these 'healing' evangelists end up finding themselves in the arms of other women (or the IRS). You would have thought that anybody who had found themselves so intimately connected to God would avoid sin at ALL costs.

Ah well, perhaps I ought to buy a white suit.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2439212863213673377.post-87368201238489113982009-01-28T01:34:00.000-08:002009-01-28T01:34:00.000-08:00I've been in many meetings like this and have neve...I've been in many meetings like this and have never understood why people who need healing are exhorted to stuggle to the front when the Holy Spirit is able and willing to minister to them as they sit in their seats.I suspect that sometimes it is to feed the already inflated ego of the speaker...Paulinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18231115682792749666noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2439212863213673377.post-51880665332869637942009-01-27T16:09:00.000-08:002009-01-27T16:09:00.000-08:00Hi stephen, glad you are writing, my wife and I sh...Hi stephen, glad you are writing, my wife and I she is on insulin have been to similar meetings but still await an answer that actually involves her being healed now, whoops there goes another pink thing flying by!! 'Why do bad things happen to good people?' Simplified into one simple question does not do the topic justice, but a satisfactory answer still eludes.

As for Morris Cerullo? Sadly, we can all be susceptible to people who purport to offer (sell?) hope, particularly when we are at our most vulnerable. I have seen such meetings on the God Channel (I also remember a very good spoof of one somewhere, though I can't remember what film it was!). And I'm not sure I would feel at all happy in one of Mr Cerullo's meetings - they are just too American for us "reserved" Brits! But this time, Stephen there is absolutely no requirement for a donation to anybody, of any value! :-)

One thing is sure, though - your writing arm is obviously better than it was on Sunday! I shall look forward to the next installment with great interest.Brianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09785080070459774320noreply@blogger.com
